Looking For Work? There Are Jobs in Trucking

This spring, forecasts are looking better about the economy with rumors of hope and improved job numbers coming soon. That’s all great and we are very excited. Right now people need work, not forecasts. For those people who would like a job now and don’t want to wait until unemployment is down, there is a great career opportunity at CR England.

It seems like no matter what the unemployment rate is, there are always jobs in transportation. People still need to eat and transportation is what gets food to the stores. People may buy less, but they still buy.

Not only is it a great way to make an income in a down turn economy, but also it is good money and stable earnings. Drivers average about $30 to $40 thousand dollars their first year of driving. And it goes up from there. Experienced drivers make $100,000 or more quite often. In fact, CR England Trucking Company, like other trucking companies, never lay off drivers. With 90 years under their belt, CR England Trucking Company, it has been around the block a few times and is highly respected in the trucking community.

No matter what the economy, good or bad, truck drivers are needed. And many people leave the jobs they have to become a truck driver for the flexibility and travel they are looking for. It’s a popular career for different reasons and needs of the driver.

CR England Trucking Company actually has a truck driving school and takes all graduates as a driver for their company. Known for their safety curriculum (because they want safe drivers), it is a top-notch school with a great reputation.

If you would like to look into there school more, go to CREngland.com and click on the Truck Driving School tab. Many people are looking into driving truck because there are always jobs.

Start 2010 With A New Job

They say making a New Years resolution to find a new career or job is right up there with dieting. If a new career is making it on your list, you may want to consider a career in the trucking industry.

If you look into the industry you will find trucking jobs with training are a great way to find yourself a new job in the trucking industry and also get the training you need all in one shot. Many people make the mistake of going to a truck driving school and then looking for a trucking job after they complete the training. This works for some but there is no guarantee you’ll get hired.

Also, going to a separate school can be a big mistake. In most cases, you’ll pay for training twice since almost all large carriers will require that you go through their individual training program regardless of the truck driving school you attended.

This is the case with CR England. It will be much better for you to skip the local school and come right to CR England. You will get training at a reduced rate and be guaranteed a job all at once. No double payments for school.

If CR England doesn't have the program for you, choosing other trucking jobs with training can eliminate the instance where you pay twice for training and you can also be guaranteed a job. Make that your goal when your looking at a new career in the trucking industry.

The job guarantee comes because trucking companies that train generally only enroll students that meet the trucking companies hiring criteria. The company is hoping the students who get into the training are going to work for the company.

Good luck to you in the New Year, And if trucking is something you'd like to pursue please visit our company website to apply.

Sleep Apnea Program Saved Life

A very hot topic in the trucking industry is the issue of Sleep Apnea. Here is a story the Reuters ran November 4th, 2009 about how a sleep apnea program saved a million mile drivers life. Here is the story:

SleepSafe Drivers, Inc. Announces Early Success in Sleep Trials with J.B. Hunt
Transport Services, Inc.
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
SleepSafe Drivers, Inc., a national provider of sleep apnea diagnosis and
treatment programs for fleets, today announced positive preliminary results from
a clinical trial focused on testing and treating truck drivers suffering with
sleep apnea as part of a national contract with J.B. Hunt Transport Services,
Inc. The clinical trial is a collaborative effort between J.B. Hunt, SleepSafe
Drivers, Inc., and Fusion Sleep LLC, Georgia`s leading provider of clinical
sleep medicine services to patients and employers.

The goal of the trial, which is backed by an Independent Review Board, is to
improve the health and safety of the drivers. The trial results will document
any cost savings from reduced medical expenses and lower accidents as a
consequence of the program. J.B. Hunt is accelerating the pace of the trial and
expects to continue expanding the program over time.

"We are committed to enhancing the safety and health of our drivers, and
SleepSafe Drivers is helping us get that done," said Greer Woodruff, Senior Vice
President of Corporate Safety and Security at J.B. Hunt. "One of our Million
Mile drivers recently told us that he felt the sleep apnea program had literally
saved his life. After starting APAP therapy, that driver has lost 115 pounds,
knocked out his challenging and chronic daytime fatigue, and was able to begin
exercising again for the first time in years. There is absolutely no doubt that
he is healthier and safer as a result of the program."

One of the major benefits of the SleepSafe Drivers program is the Company`s
unique On-SiteTM testing and Sure ComplianceTM treatment program designed
specifically for truckers. These programs offer the ability to test drivers for
sleep apnea using out-patient testing via ambulatory tests wherever the driver
is sleeping that night. Ambulatory testing is less costly and more convenient
for truck drivers, making it easier for them to get tested sooner and start
receiving treatment.

"We are proud to be helping J.B. Hunt deliver on their goal of improving the
health of their drivers while also reducing avoidable risk and expenses," stated
Dana Voien, president of SleepSafe Drivers. "Working with our clinical partners
at Fusion Sleep in Atlanta, we are confident that fleets will recognize a four
to ten month payback period on the program investment, so it more than pays for
itself in the first year alone. Our national network assures that we can cover a
fleet`s entire needs across the nation."

"The goal of the trial is to quantify the health benefits and document changes
in fatigue-related accidents and safety as a consequence of this unique program.
Preliminary findings already demonstrate real and significant health benefits,
and we anticipate that this research will provide us with the most comprehensive
data and cost-effective model for disease and accident prevention in the
trucking industry," said Jeffrey Durmer, MD, PhD, and Chief Medical Officer of
Fusion Sleep and principal investigator of the clinical trial.

Not a Bad Time to Become a Truck Driver

CR England Trucking Jobs
According to an article that ran on Freep.com written by Free Press Business Writer John Gallagher, economists are expecting steady growth in the trucking industry. The article discusses the many trucking jobs that are available and highlights the fact that no experience is required.

This is all great news for individuals that are considering a new career in the truck driving industry. Truck driving schools are training drivers for a career in an industry that pays a driver up to $40,000.00 in their first year of employment.

For many the great pay is nice, but the job security of the trucking industry is the new draw especially after all the layoffs that have occurred in other industries. Some trucking jobs may have been lost but carriers like CR England never laid off a single driver in the down turn. In fact CR England hasn’t ever laid off a driver in its 89 year history.

In the article Stevens Transport vice president Angela Horowitz said "There will always be goods moving across our nation, and 80% of all the volume goes over the road" and "Having a CDL and getting involved in transportation is a lot more stable and secure than probably 98% of the other career paths out there."

That’s a fact!

If you or someone you know is looking for an exciting, new career come see what CR England has to offer. CR England has many trucking jobs open for experienced and non-experienced drivers and even truck driving school students are guaranteed a job upon completion of training.

CR England Says Get Goal Oriented

There is absolutely no doubt that truck jobs can be hard work.  One of the easiest ways to relieve a lot of stress form all that hard work is to be goal orientated. Goal oriented people are overall more successful than those that are not.

One way thing that will certainly help you become goal orientated is to come up with a small simple business plan for yourself. Once you spend the time necessary to set up a business plan you will be able to understand the business side of the trucking business. When setting up your business plan you will have to do research to figure out things like repair costs, maintenance costs, food costs, and fuel costs.

Once you go through the process of setting up the plan you will be better off. You will be come goal orientated. When you spend money and earn money you will have your business goals in the back of your mind. Also, you will mostly likely have a good understanding of your actions sometimes cost you money in the long run.

Here are some tips for after you have made a business plan that will help you hit your goals.

Budget for unplanned events like flat tires, glass cracks etc.
If you budget in advance it won't be a sword in the back when it happens.

Budget for food expenses.
You would not believe how much money some drivers spend on food. You will also be very surprised by how much money a trucker can save on food if they think about each and every morsel they buy.

Be a Bean Counter.
Now that you have a plan, you can account for everything you spend your money on and you will have an understanding of how the expense is affecting your bottom line. Expenses like Fuel, Tolls, Pallets etc. will all be accounted for.

Trip Planning To The Penny.
Another great thing about understanding the business side of truck driving jobs is seeing how poorly planned trips are effecting your bottom line. Now that you know what its costing you to wing it, you'll be more inclined to plan better.

That's it. Follow the tips above and your CDL jobs will be smoother, lower stress, and more profitable than ever before. Thinking about truck driving school? more information
